What is a Job

A job is a regular activity, which is performed in exchange for payment. A person usually begins a job (paid work) by becoming an employee, volunteering, or starting a business. The duration of a job may range from an hour (in the case of odd jobs) to a Full time (in the case of some judges). If a person is trained for a certain type of job, they may start their job as a professional (like : doctor, lawyer etc.).

Types of jobs

There are a different variety of jobs: full time, part time, temporary, odd jobs, seasonal, intern, contractor or self-employment. You may have a chosen occupation for which you have received training or a degree. To perform a job search, chose your preferred job criteria.

Full Time
Full-time job is employment in which a person works a minimum number of hours defined as such by his/her employer. The "standard" work week consists of five eight-hour days, commonly served between 9:00AM to 5:00PM totaling 40 hours.

Part Time
A part-time job is a form of employment that carries fewer hours per week than a full-time job. There are many reasons for working part-time, including the desire to do so, having one's hours cut back by an employer and being unable to find a full-time job.

Temporary Jobs or Seasonal Jobs or Contractual Jobs
Temporary Job or temporary employment refers to a situation where the employee is expected to leave the employer within a certain period of time. Temporary employees are sometimes called "contractual", "seasonal", "interim", "casual staff", "freelance"; or the word may be shortened to "temps.
